  Located 25 minutes from L'Orée du Mans, the Alpes Mancelles promise a mountainous setting in the heart of the Normandie-Maine Regional Nature Park. 

This natural region of the Sarthe, which extends into the Orne and Mayenne, has a green landscape with the appearance of a medium-sized mountain. From small woods to forests, from narrow gorges cluttered with rocks to hills covered with a carpet of heather, beautiful hikes in perspective!

The site classified Natura 2000 shelters a protected fauna and a flora which one can contemplate through various proposed courses: On foot, by bike and by canoe ... 

The Royal Abbey of Epau is a Cistercian abbey founded in 1229 by Queen Berangère of Navarre, widow of Richard the Lionheart. She is buried there.

In 1958, its restoration began, restoring the abbey to its original 13th century appearance.

The first of the Loire castles in the north of the valley, Le Lude, is a historical castle, a living and inhabited residence.

50 minutes from L'Orée du Mans, at the gateway to Anjou, the castle and gardens of Le Lude are part of the great castles of the Loire Valley, a Unesco World Heritage Site.

It is one of the rare among the great castles to be still inhabited, object of all the care of a family which has occupied it for 260 years. The castle is a testimony of four centuries of French architecture, a defensive fortress transformed during the Renaissance and the classical period into an elegant residence with a palace-like appearance. Young and old alike will be seduced by the labyrinth, the stables or the underground passages, all of which are beautiful surprises along the way.

Located 50 minutes from L'Orée du Mans, it offers one of the largest collections in France with over a thousand animals. It is an emblematic park that skilfully combines respect for biodiversity, innovation and the wonder of visitors. Founded in 1946, La Flèche Zoo was the first private zoo to be created in France. Nearly a century later, it still stands out and is one of the top 5 French zoological parks in terms of the number of visitors to the La Flèche Zoo: the diversity of the plant species it houses. The Zoo emphasizes its preservation and counts among its decorations, more than 800 plant species, all carefully positioned according to the ambiences recreated for the animals.
